Purpose
The purpose of TheCall San Francisco was to pray for a great spiritual awakening for Hollywood, the arts and entertainment capital, and for California overall.
Summary
In 1996, a prophetic intercessor had a dream. In it, one of the Ls in the famous Hollywood sign on the hills overlooking the city flew out and went to Mount Wilson above Pasadena. The sign then became “Holy Wood,” and Mt. Wilson became “The Will of the Son.” The day after she told Lou the dream he received a phone call from a prayer mobilizer in Washington DC. At one point this person suddenly mentioned, “And my son told me this morning that God wants to take the L out of Hollywood and make it Holy Wood.” It was an outstanding confirmation regarding God’s will for the media capital of the world. With that and other prophetic insights, one of the main focuses of TheCall San Francisco was to wage heavenly warfare for breakthroughs in Hollywood.
About three years before these Calls in California, an intercessor had a dream about a woman dressed for war in Roman armor. She was seated on a body of water stirring up huge waves. People swimming could not make it to their destinations because of the waves. Then an angel appeared to her and said, “The only thing that can break the power of this spirit is 40 days of fasting.” The intercessor asked, “Like Jesus’ fast?” “Like Jesus!” answered the angel.
When Lou heard the dream, he recognized the lady as the Roman goddess Minerva, who is on California’s state seal. The next day, he was drawn to a book he hadn’t read in years, Dick Bernal’s Storming the Brazen Gates. Amazingly, in that book he turned to a picture of the state seal of California with Minerva seated on the waters of San Francisco Bay. As he read, he learned that Minerva is the Roman counterpart of the Greek goddess Athena, who was the goddess of war, the arts, the universities and commerce. Lou recognized that this was the controlling spirit of California, influencing our institutions of Hollywood (arts), universities (wisdom) and Silicon Valley (wealth).
Soon afterwards, Lou had a desire to do a 40-day, water-only fast. With that thought, a fear of dying came over him. Yet the Lord convicted his heart, “Do you love California enough to risk it?” He then began his fast in San Francisco and asked for a sign to confirm this step. Back in Pasadena on the day of his 50th birthday, he met with his spiritual son Abbott Foster, who is married to the sister of the woman who had the Minerva dream. Neither of them knew about the fast Lou had already started, and Abbott told Lou that his wife had a dream about him. In it, a woman appeared saying, “Lou is fasting the fast you dreamt about three years ago.” Abbott’s wife asked, “Do you mean like Jesus fasted on water?” The woman replied, “Yes, on water. He thinks he will die, but he will not die.”
One of Lou’s main goals for this fast was the breaking of the inward toleration of Jezebel’s influence in his own life. In gaining personal victory, he would gain a victorious position over Jezebel over California. On the 31st day of his fast, he had a dream, and in it he was flying over California declaring the victory of the cross over Jezebel. At that exact same time, Lou’s friend in St. Louis also had a dream. In it he heard a voice saying, “Because Lou has been faithful on this fast, I have given him authority over Jezebel and in the nations. And everywhere TheCall goes, there I will establish my house of prayer.”
Armed with these promises for California, TheCall in Los Angeles and in San Francisco focused on repenting for the church’s toleration of Jezebel and confronting her immoral influence throughout the state. They prayed for a great spiritual awakening throughout the state.
Following both TheCall gatherings, Governor Grey Davis, who was responsible for passing various pieces of immoral legislation, was re-called during a special election. Also, an opportunity opened up for Lou to directly prophesy to and pray for Gavin Newsom, San Francisco’s mayor, who had also initiated godless, anti-marriage policies.
As the Lord promised to establish houses of prayer wherever TheCall went, Justice Houses of Prayer were subsequently planted in San Diego and in San Francisco. Articles in this group
