Venue: Boston Commons
Date: September 2001
Attendees: 50,000

Purpose

The aim of TheCall Boston was to pray for another great awakening and to close the door to false ideologies, religious heresies, and intellectual pride.

Summary

In December 2000, Lou had a dream of destiny. In it, he was playing tennis with Cindy Jacobs, a well-known prayer leader in the nations. He knew she was mentoring him and about four or five others. He knew that one of these individuals had broken through with great influence while the others were being prepared for breakthrough. Later on, Cindy helped interpret the dream for Lou. “It’s the courts!” she said. “It is a contest over the courts.” The one who had already broken through was TheCall DC, which resulted in the presidential election of 2000 and the Supreme Court decision affecting the election’s outcome. The other four or five being prepared were TheCall regional events.
Right after waking up from that dream, Lou went into his living room to pray about it. The inward voice of the Lord then reverberated strongly in his spirit: “No one is targeting false ideologies with massive prayer and fasting.”
Soon after receiving this word, Lou began mobilizing for TheCall Boston. While in California preaching about this upcoming Call event, he proclaimed, “We need to dig the wells of revival in Boston and close the door to false ideologies that have come through Harvard.” About a week later, Lou received a phone call from Senator Sam Brownback, and he said, “Lou, you need to dig the wells of revival in New England and close the doors to false ideologies that have found entrance through Boston.” That was a startling confirmation for Lou.
Also, TheCall Boston ended up being held 11 days after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington DC. God had arranged this solemn assembly just after that great crisis occurred.
In 2002, criminal charges of sexual abuse were brought against five catholic priests in the Boston area. Then through stories in the Boston Globe, this issue was brought into the national limelight, and stories of abuses by priests erupted all over the nation. As a result, Cardinal Law, the archbishop of Boston, resigned on December 13, 2002. He was the first among other Catholic leaders to resign because of these widespread scandals. A great exposing and cleansing in the church happened that year.
A Justice House of Prayer in Boston was established.
